Sean Batty has been a Scottish TV weatherman and meteorologist on STV for nearly 20 years, bringing weather to life for viewers with energy, insight, and a love of the outdoors. Born on an unusually cold, snowy day in May 1982, he has been fascinated by snow and storms since childhood. Sean has covered everything from wintry blasts to climate change impacts, and now brings that passion to children’s books. The Worst Christmas Weather EVER is his first story, blending festive adventure with a message of hope and climate action.
Fascinated by snow and storms since he was seven, Sean has spent decades bringing weather to life on the BBC and STV. Now, he’s giving that passion back to a new generation, inspiring kids to become Santa’s “Ho Ho Heroes” and learn how they can make a difference for the planet. Sean will also talk about his Met Academy, a fun and educational platform for children to explore weather, alongside a new calendar and other exciting projects planned for the future.
